Website Connects Job Developers with Employers Hiring People with Disabilities
The Employer Assistance Referral Network (EARN) helps service providers place consumers with disabilities in jobs, and helps employers with job vacancies recruit employees with disabilities, by putting the one in touch with the other. Service providers and employers who wish to take advantage of this program must enroll. Enrolling is free, and only takes a few minutes. It is possible to enroll online. The toll-free hotline is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST, with voice or TTY, at 1-866-327-6669.

The web site includes information on common myths about employees with disabilities, tips for co-workers, tips on disability-related etiquette, etc. If you are a service provider who has been having trouble convincing employers that it just makes good business sense to hire employees with disabilities, take a look at the materials and facts on this site.

Jobs for Students with Disabilities
The Federal Office of Personnel Management has a Web site that includes opportunities for youth with disabilities. Create a resume, profile and begin your search for employment. The Web site motto is, "Your journey to success begins here," so pack your bags and get started.

Career Gateway

A Web-based service of Career Opportunities for Students with Disabilities (COSD) for employers and graduating college and university students where students can post their resumes and employers can search for qualified candidates. For information, go to www.cosdonline.org.

HACE Job Search Website
The Hispanic Association for Career Enhancement (HACE) lists job opportunities with some of America's leading companies who are looking to bolster their Latino managerial talent.

Employment Website with Disability Focus
Recruitability is a new employment service available online. It is dedicated to "Bridging the Disability Divide" in employment. People with disabilities can post their resumes and browse the job postings for free. There is also great advice and resources on other job search strategies. Any employer can search the resumes for free. They can also post jobs and get great tips on how to effectively recruit people with disabilities. Companies such as Bank of America, IBM, Microsoft, Aetna and Manpower enthusiastically support this initiative.

Bender Consulting Services Looking to Hire Job Seekers with Disabilities

Bender Consulting Services, Inc.'s mission is to provide superior technology consulting services to their customers while creating employment, career opportunities, independence and freedom for people with disabilities. Bender currently is looking for qualified candidates to fill a variety of positions.

Return to Work Website
Return To Work Inc. (R2W) will be accepting applications online for a large array of jobs.  Simply visit the website, click on JOBS, login and enter as much information about yourself as you can. 

Hire DisAbility
Each year HireDisAbility hosts career expos in several cities around the United States. The expos are large job fairs that are specifically geared toward connecting people with disabilities to employment. There is no fee to attend. Consumers are advised to pre-register on HireDisAbilitity's website, however, walk-ins are accepted on the day of the event.

Equal Opportunity Publications, Inc.
Equal Opportunity Publications, Inc. publishes career magazines for women, minority groups and people with disabilities with the goal of helping underrepresented job seekers find employment. Their publication roster includes Careers & the Disabled and Hispanic Career World. Visit their web site for links to companies that are actively recruiting, and information.

Hire Diversity: Internet Job Resource Center
Hire Diversity offers career, job, and employment resources for minorities. There are specific sections devoted to news and opportunities for many minority groups, including people with disabilities and Hispanics. There is a place to post your resume for prospective employers to look at and a job search engine based on job type and location. Hire Diversity also offers a list of professional and career and employment related organizations specific to each major US minority group.

Top Employers for People with Disabilities

DiversityInc and Equal Opportunities Publications have both created lists of major employers that have demonstrated a strong commitment to hiring people with disabilities, providing training, and making jobs accessible. Top employers include IBM, Verizon, PepsiCo, Kaiser Permanente, and Proctor & Gamble. Check out these two lists at http://www.diversityinc.com/public/3573.cfm and http://www.eop.com/cdtop50.html. Consider going to the websites of the recommended companies and finding job openings or internships in fields that you are interested in.

Monster.com
Monster.com lets jobseekers search through thousands of job postings around the United States and around the world. Also provides advice on developing your resume and presenting yourself well during job interviews. Registered users are able to post their resume for employers to find. Other resources available at Monster.com include information about people with disabilities in the workforce and information to help job seekers decide whether it's worth relocating to another city.

Enables potential employees to search through job openings available throughout the United States. Registered users can also post their resume on-line.

Saludos.com
This is another job search site for Hispanics that allows searches for both internships and employment. Interested persons can also post their resumes on the search site for employers.

iHispano.com
This is a job search site for Hispanic bilingual professionals. Visitors to the site can post their resumes; search the job bank by keyword, location, and company, learn about job fairs for Hispanics all over the US, as well as read tips on finding the job you are looking for.

eSight Careers Network
eSight Careers Network is a powerful resource for learning how to manage your career or effectively deal with disability employment issues. This site also operates a job alert e-mail list that you can subscribe to in addition to a newsletter.

Job Listings for Bilingual Professionals
This is the place to look for job listings if you are Latino or Hispanic, or if you are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese. The website is available in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. You can find job listings or post your resume. It also has a calendar of jobs fairs in various cities.

HireDeaf.com
HireDeaf.com is a one-stop career resource center that offers advanced privacy features and career tools for job seekers. The site features many jobs posted by corporate hiring mangers, staffing firms, and executive recruiters. As an important career site in the deaf community, HireDeaf.com provides a highly resourceful and dynamic exchange between opportunity seekers and employers.

Idealist.org
Both the English version and the Spanish version allows users to search for jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities around the world in nonprofit and community organizations. Users can also use this site to find resources and services for job seekers in the nonprofit and related fields.

Philanthropy Careers
Allows users to search through job listings at various charities. Also offers advice to jobseekers who wish to set up informational interviews, to charities looking for better ways to screen volunteers or establish endowments.

Philanthropy News Digest Job Corner
Looking for a job in the philanthropy or nonprofit field? The online Philanthropy News Digest of The Foundation Center has a regularly up-dated listing of jobs at nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. A few of these jobs involve working with the Latino community or in Latin America.

Protection & Advocacy, Inc.
Protection and Advocacy, Inc. (PAI) is a nonprofit organization with offices in Sacremento, San Francisco, Los Angelos, and San Diego. This organization works with people with disabilities to protect, advocate for, and advance their human, legal, and service rights. PAI occasionally has job openings for bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants.

Job Resources on Developmental & Learning Disabilities Web Site
YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities is an award-winning, nationally acclaimed network of not-for-profit health and human service agencies dedicated to building brighter futures for people with disabilities and their families. The career services department has a varied list of job openings at their organization. Go to www.yai.org and click on the careers link.

Super CIL in Los Angeles
The Westside Center for Independent Living's (WCIL) Latino Employment Connection helps disabled Latinos in the Los Angeles area get employment. The program works with consumers on perfecting their resumes, selecting and purchasing appropriate clothing for interviews, identifying and applying for jobs, setting up job interviews, preparing references for employer calls, and more. So far this year WCIL Job Developer Sandra Brizuela has helped place 22 consumers in jobs.

"Often when I start a relationship with a consumer we work together on confidence building," remarked Brizuela. "When consumers begin to realize their worth they walk with their heads up and know they have what it takes to succeed." WCIL has offices in Santa Monica, Mar Vista and West LA. Walgreens Employment Initiative & Website
Walgreen recently launched an accessible website as part of an outreach initiative to hire people with disabilities at its new distribution centers in Anderson, South Carolina and Windsor, Connecticut. The website, designed to be accessible to people who have sensory, physical and cognitive disabilities, describes the 200 positions Walgreens plans to fill when the center opens in mid-2007. Some of the accessibility features include audio messages, large print text, screen-reader compatibility and captioned photos and videos depicting essential job functions and daily routine tasks. Information about disability service agencies in the area, housing and resources for the impact of gainful employment on benefits also is included. Walgreens recruiting team is striving to hire one-third employees with disabilities, including several management level positions.

USAJOBS
Users will see an information sheet written for job seekers who have disabilities. The USAJOBS main page (www.usajobs.opm.gov) lists current federal job vacancies worldwide and has links to employment information fact sheets. The USAJOBS web site also allows users to build an on-line resume specifically designed for applying for federal jobs; this resumes can then be printed for faxing or mailing or it can be used to apply for jobs on-line. Job seekers can also use an interactive, automated telephone system to gain access to information about job vacancies and application forms. U.S. Department of Education
The U.S. Department of Education is actively trying to recruit more Hispanic/Latino employees. This web site provides more information on this initiative, job listings, and information on the benefits of working at their department.

United States Department of Agriculture
Has links to jobs at the USDA. The USDA nondiscrimination policy states that people with disabilities who need alternate means of obtaining program information (braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) are encouraged to contact the USDA TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (Voice and TDD).

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Provides a link to a job search engine for job openings within DHHS. Also provides links to the many agencies within DHHS, including the various National Institutes of Health, Administration for Children and Families, Administration on Aging, Indian Health Service, and others.

U.S. Department of State
The Department of State is trying to recruit more minorities to join the Foreign Service to have a more equal representation of the US population. Information on the requirements and entry test, as well as a description of the careers within the foreign service can be found under the employment section of the Department's website.

Department of Defense
Has links to resources for civilians interested in working for the Army, Navy, National Security Agency, and other divisions within the Department of Defense.
